Walk for a Healthy Community
Sunday, June 14, 2008, Historic Downtown Bethlehem PA
On Sunday, Pastor Bob and several members of Olivet will join others to walk for a healthy community in Bethlehem. We will be raising money to support the important work of ProJeCt of Easton, a local ministry that provides assistance to the greater Easton Community through a food bank, an assist program and literacy programs. The walk starts at 9:00 am and is only about three miles long and the money we raise will make a big difference in helping ProJeCt and thus a big difference in helping our community. If you would like to walk you can register at www.walkforahealthycommunity.org. Just indicate that you will be participating in the Bethlehem walk in support of ProJeCt of Easton, or just talk to Pastor Bob. If you would like to contribute, you can prepare a check made out to ProJeCt of Easton and mail it to the church or drop it in the offering plate. If you wish to make a cash gift you can put it in an envelope and mark it for "walk for a healthy community." Please know that ProJeCt is an important asset in our community and your participation through a gift and/or your presence will make a huge difference. Confirmation Sunday June 1 at 10:00
This year we are blessed to welcome six of our young people into membership of the church. Confirmation Sunday is always an exciting day. Over the course of this year the confirmands have met on a regular basis nearly every Sunday after worship since October. They have completed many homework assignments (too many if you ask them!!!). As the teacher it has been a pleasure to get to know them better and I anticipate that they will continue to be active participants in the corporate life of our church.
Please plan on joining with us in Worship on June 1 where together we will celebrate this significant event as these young people confirm their faith and their dedication to continue on their journey of faith.
